If you have any questions about your data, write to the email address above. As a small business we are not required to appoint a data protection officer.

In short

This website uses no cookies, no analytics, no tracking and no advertising tools. Fonts, photos and videos come from our own website, so nothing is loaded from Google or other third parties while you browse. We only process personal data when you contact us or book a course.

Visiting this website

The website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (San Francisco, USA). When you open a page, the server automatically processes the technical data your browser sends: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser and operating system, and the page you came from. This is needed to deliver the website and keep it secure.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Netlify processes this data on our behalf under a data processing agreement and keeps server logs only for a short time. Data may be transferred to the USA. These transfers are protected by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses in Netlify’s data processing agreement (Art. 46 GDPR) and, where applicable, by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Contact form

When you send the contact form, we receive your name, email address, company or hotel (optional), the topic you chose and your message. We use this data only to answer your request and, if you wish, to prepare an offer.

Legal basis: steps taken at your request before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time. Messages are stored with Netlify (Netlify Forms, see above) and forwarded to our email inbox. Giving us your data is voluntary, but without your name, email address and message we can’t reply.

We delete enquiries once they have been dealt with and are no longer needed, usually within 12 months, unless a course follows or the law requires us to keep them.

Email, phone and WhatsApp

If you email or call us, we use your details to deal with your request, on the same legal basis as the contact form.

The WhatsApp buttons are simple links. Clicking one takes you to WhatsApp, operated by WhatsApp Ireland Limited (Meta), and WhatsApp’s privacy policy applies from then on. If you’d rather not use WhatsApp, email works just as well.

Booking a consultation

The “Book a free consultation” button opens Google’s appointment booking page (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). The name and email address you enter there are processed by Google and passed on to us so we can hold the appointment. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Google may transfer data to the USA. Google is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Google’s privacy policy also applies.

YouTube and LinkedIn

Our YouTube and LinkedIn icons are simple links. Nothing is loaded from these platforms and no data is sent to them until you click. After that, the privacy policy of the platform applies.

Courses and clients

If you book a course, we process your contact and billing details and course information such as your level and attendance. We need this to run the course and invoice it (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and to meet Italian accounting and tax rules (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). Accounting records are generally kept for ten years. For company courses, the employer gives us the names and email addresses of the participants so we can organise the lessons.

Who receives your data

Only we and the service providers named above (Netlify, Google if you book an appointment, and our email provider) see your data, plus our accountant where needed for invoicing. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • access the data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • have it corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17)
  • restrict its processing (Art. 18)
  • receive it in a common format (Art. 20)
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interest (Art. 21)
  • withdraw your consent at any time, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3))

Just email lena@lileducation.com. You can also complain to a data protection authority, in Italy the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it).

We don’t use automated decision-making or profiling.

Changes

We update this policy when our website or services change. The current version is always on this page.
